The United Tamers of Britannia, is a long standing multi-shard guild, currently it is active on Baja, Chesapeake, and Atlantic. Each chapter is independently managed and conducts itself under its own guiding principles with one exception. The United Tamers strives to be a Guild in the very essence of the word.
Definition: Guild
1.
a. An association of persons of the same trade or pursuits, formed to protect mutual interests and maintain standards.
b. A similar association, as of merchants or artisans, in medieval times.
The United Tamers uses those definitions as one of it's guiding principles, all members of the United Tamers are just that Tamers, we're dedicated to nurturing the profession by maintaining high standards of a both Moral and Ethical standard as represented by our conduct with our fellow citizens of Britannia, and our dedication to perfection in the Taming Profession. UTB is a place for those interested in learning about Taming to come and socialize and learn from their peers, and for those that have achieved high skill levels to find fellows to share exploits of adventure and form new friendships.
One thing the United Tamers realizes that unlike most adventuring professions Taming is a skill that isn't able to be effectively trained with assistance, it's not only difficult it's also largely a solitary effort. The United Tamers is a place to gain moral support and advice when striving to weather the long hours necessary to become a talented tamer. More than anything it's a place for like interested individuals to come where the stigmata and archaic outlook on Tamers is of no concern.
Taming was once one of the most over powered professions in Ultima Online, unethical Tamers gave the profession, a reputation for those in it to be aloof, greedy, callous, and cruel towards their fellows. The United Tamers strive to oppose that reputation by being a shining example of what Tamers can be, productive, helpful, friendly members of our Shards communities. Neutral in all conflicts, not overbearing on its members, the United Tamers wishes to be a place for those interested to interact with their fellows at their leisure, while maintaining bonds born in the work and burning desire to achieve a high level of taming proficiency. The United Tamers believe in a dedication to following the 8 Virtues is essential to achieving an ethical yet neutral state.

Requirements to becoming a Member of the United Tamers of Britannia.
Ronin
Ronin will be required to have at least a minimum of 50 (Apprentice) taming, without the benefit of jewelry or other skill enhancement items. They will remain as Ronin until such time as they have achieved a rank of Expert Tamer (70 Skill) without the benefit of jewelry or skill enhancement items, or until the next meeting which ever is longer.
This gives new tamers a place to learn and a way to communicate with fellows that truly understand the terrible pains of success and disappointment that comes with gaining skill as a Tamer, while giving time to evaluate the prospective and judging their ability to mesh well with the guild in and of itself. This can be thought of as an apprenticeship program; once one shows the ability to pass beyond and act accordingly they move on to full membership.
Full Membership
Expert Tamers (70 Skill) can apply for full membership. They will remain as Ronin for 1 week or until the next guild meeting which ever is longer. This gives a time to evaluate the prospective member and get a "feel" for them and how they will mesh with current members, at the end of this period it will be decided to either promote them to full members, extend their time as Ronin, or dismiss them from the guild with an explanation as to why. Reapplying is allowed after 3 months, if dismissed.
Benefits of Membership
Full Members have access to Guild Chests, they are encouraged to contribute though, and as of now there is no plans to tithe members for the guilds treasury, which in some circumstances is used to acquire items to add to the open guild chests, and for other emergency funds as deemed necessary or for the purchase of special awards for members and the financing of events. Full Members have access to all areas of the forums not dedicated towards Leadership only discussions.
Beyond Full Membership
Those that excel in the display of dedication to not only the guild, but its principles may be offered positions inside the guild that come with additional benefits. These can include access to contribute to the front page of the United Tamers website, personalized E-mail addresses such as
yourname@unitedtamersofbritannia.com and access to other areas of the forums that will be limited to Leadership, and elite members to discuss the shaping and future of the guild before asking the main body of members for their opinions. This means you can achieve a position where you help directly to shape the guild you're in instead of simply being a member, without becoming a full member of the leadership. All members' opinions are important this benefit just includes you into the brainstorming sessions.
Rules of Conduct
The United Tamers of Britannia and it's members remain neutral in conflicts, this neutrality includes but is not limited to warring status, stealing from other members, murder, and conflicts between guilds not directly associated with the United Tamers of Britannia. On occasion if desired by the members of the guild these generalizations will be lifted for the purpose of special events, and role play situations. Defense of oneself and pets is allowed in Felucca but acting as the aggressor is discouraged. With the knowledge that Felucca is a PvP environment any player flagged as a criminal, or murderer is automatically declared an aggressor and can be attacked at anytime unless he is in a predefined area of neutrality or has been granted protected status.
Conflicts between members of the United Tamers and those of other guilds shall be addressed to the Guild Leader or an Emissary in order to provide a moderator in such conflicts. The purpose of this is to dissolve any doubt or questioning of one's conduct and to also expedite resolution of such conflicts.
