Site Map Being Developed

See the Site Map Page to get an idea of what information everyone can include in the Wiki. We are working to automate part of this site map into Yellow Pages to automatically pull pages that are categorized in certain categories.

Testing how to load information hosted on other Sites.

See the United Tamers of Britannia Page. We are working out some procedures to provide references, footnotes, and recognition of page original locations and authors. See the history on that page for how we preserve the original source, then edit it to better suit this Wiki.

• NOTE: We are exploring all Copyright issues or rules of other web sites. It is Illegal to simply copy and paste someone else's work from another site without re-publishing permission unless the information is declared "public domain" or the copyright rules on that site allow re-publishing. Be careful when adding information from other sites. We will try to establish some specific re-publishing arrangements with sites such as UO Stratics Forums, UO Forums, and UO. We will probably not be able to re-publish certain work, like on UO Stratics main pages, that their news people or volunteers have created for their web sites.

UOCWiki is in Pre-Alpha Development

Before we launch this site and make it more publicly known, we are working on the structure, categories, some Plugins, and particularly an extensive HELP system. There's nothing more frustrating than trying to use a new site or system and it's too hard to figure out the simplest things.

Pre-Alpha Development

Some people may be invited by the SuperAdmin to help with content and testing before Alpha Test Stage. The invitations are VERY limited. Interested people may reach Winfield by Private Message (PM) on UO Stratics or UO Forums.

Alpha Testing and Development Stage

• To start mid to late January 2008 (delayed from the intended before Christmas 2007). Sorry for the delay!! We want the system to work as correctly as possible before the Alpha launch.
• During this stage, some people will be invited to load/write information and do some testing.
• SPECIAL NOTE: This site is LIVE, so worthwhile information entered will not be wiped. We will also be experimenting with a lot of test information for formatting and scripts.
• NOTE: Everything done on this site is logged by the Wiki and through the server page access logs. Everyone can see page changes on the Wiki. Only Admins and the SuperAdmin have access to IP addresses and deeper logs.
• UPDATED - December 23, 2007 - We are now working with a few individuals to add content and to consult on the administration of this system. One large goal for the infrastructure is to make this system available to many shards through subdomains. This allows for using the "same TikiWiki code" on multiple subdomains, but each subdomain has it's own database of information. Therefore (once developed and tested) we can have any shard communities provide encyclopedic information about their shards, independent of other shard information. Common information would be placed at the root of the UOCWiki system, if such common information exists. REMINDER: We are NOT replacing other Wikis and Online Services who publish information about Clients, Dungeons, etc. We are focused on Shard-specific information.
